OUR MISSION

The Elena A. Miranda Foundation, founded by Carlos Fausto Miranda, is a registered 509(a)(1) non-profit organization. It was created to help children with life-ending conditions for which a medical intervention does exist, but whose families cannot afford the cost. Sadly, society has left them behind to such a degree that no public funds are available to save them. In these times, when more and more public medical aid is being cut from those who need it most, our role is more critical than ever. No child deserves to suffer, and no family deserves to live their child’s suffering.

All donations are tax-deductible under IRC Section 170. The Foundation is committed to 0-fee assistance. All administrative costs will be covered through volunteer work or outside donations. This ensures that 100% of funds donated are used directly for medical interventions to save a child’s life.

The Foundation is also committed to radical transparency. All bank statements and tax filings will be available upon request to anyone. All donations received in an operating year will be donated to subject causes in that same year.

The Foundation has one purpose, and only one purpose: to help those incapable of helping themselves.

OUR IMPACT

In a bold demonstration of philanthropic impact, the Elena A. Miranda Foundation has pledged $500,000 to the Patient Assistance Fund at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, ensuring that 100 % of the donation goes directly toward life-saving medical care for children from financially vulnerable families.  This contribution has already translated into tangible change: the hospital honored the gift by naming a new wing of its lobby the “Elena A. Miranda Marketplace”, symbolizing the Foundation’s commitment to removing financial barriers in pediatric healthcare. Through this strategic donation and operational model (covering administrative costs through separate donors), the Foundation amplifies its impact—transforming lives, alleviating burdens, and channeling resources where they matter most: direct patient care.

IN HONOR OF ELENA

The EAM Foundation focuses on assisting children with disabilities and challenges, as well as their families. Not all children with such difficulties are so fortunate to be born to families committed who are capable of dealing with their needs. It is for them, that our Foundation exists, we strive to make a positive impact on the families that need help the most.
